Maggot King Guide

Encounter Introduction

The Maggot King is Vampyrium's flagship solo boss (near Phosani's Nightmare difficulty). Watch the embedded video for spatial cues, then follow this checklist: unlock Sangvesti setup, open with Magic/Ranged until ~65% HP, melee punish after, then choose Open-stomach or Take-eggs.

Uniques: Crimson kisten (1/520) and Elder venator fang (1/340). Pet: Maggot marquess.

Core Mechanics

Enter on Protect from Missiles. Toggle overheads off during Venator screech / white tendril telegraphs. Clear ur-maggot larvae quickly. Fire magic has a strong elemental edge in the opener.

Learning Progression

Stage one: complete setup and survive with excess food. Stage two: clean style swap at 65%. Stage three: Open-stomach farm for fang/kisten. Stage four: Take-eggs for pet or chase Master CAs.
