Entering Vampyrium

After the early Morytania segments, you enter Castle Drakan and pass through a central portal into Vampyrium—the vampyre homeland continent. Venators chase you on arrival; split up and escape to another room. The world map icon switches to a castle layout showing visited rooms, unlocked doors, and unsolved puzzles.

Vampyrium supplies appear in chests and individual spawns: mysterious jerky (high healing), smelly kebab (combo food), foul chunky potions (super restore plus prayer regen), putrid sticky potions (stamina), rank frothy potions (super combat), rancid slimy potions (brew-like healing with lighter stat drain), and jars of congealed blood (full HP and prayer restore, one per chest pickup but more found throughout). These items work only inside Vampyrium and cannot be banked. Supply tents before major fights restock unlimited quantities.

Fixing the Clocks & Half Moon Key

Progress begins with clock repair and emblem collection. Take the west door using the half moon key, navigate trap corridors (optionally loot mysterious jerky from a crate), and recover clock components. The castle map tracks which wings remain locked—work systematically rather than wandering.

Route guides on the official wiki mark lettered rooms; follow west corridors first, avoid floor traps, and note crescent moon door icons for later keys. Death respawns you at the last checkpoint with items intact.

Crescent Moon Key

Search the chest on the northern wall and enter the code: right, down, right, left, left. The combination derives from the order of vampyres listed on the southern plaque and the direction each faces in their respective paintings. The reward is the crescent moon key, unlocking crescent moon doors throughout the castle.

Keep the castle map open—crescent doors gate the laboratory wing where you assemble the crest halves for the new moon key.

New Moon Key — Laboratory & Crest

From the chest room, pass west then south-west into the laboratory. Kill all Sanguidae, collect the syringe barrel, venator stomach from the south-east crate, and sink plug from the western sink. Enter the north-west room, plug the sink, turn the tap, and recover the broken pipe. Combine pipe with the cabinet for a sharp knife, assemble syringe parts, fill the syringe from the venator stomach, and inject the chest for a left crest half.

Exit via crescent doors to the basement stairs. Deal with the venator in the south room—Protect from Melee or Missiles depending on distance, disable prayer before screeches. Mirror weapon statues north and south: from east to west they hold battleaxes, spears, maces, and swords. Search the chest for the right crest half, combine into a full crest, return to the portal room fireplace, and inspect it for the new moon key.

Gilded Key & Full Moon Key

Open the lockbox with symbols from left to right: ⠿, ᴟ, ⁘. Inspect the venator head for hint code "426"—four banners, two shields, six braziers correspond to the symbols. Enter the south-west door with passcode SPEAR (from the ancestral dagger and grid note in the room).

Search the display case for the gilded key, descend through the gilded door, kill venators, and collect gilded and vampyre books. Use the gilded book on the western gilded bookcase, rearrange Vampyric House symbols alphabetically, enter the secret passage, and take the full moon key from the table.

Place potions in basins per inscriptions: cloudy grey south-west, weightless black north-east, thick red north-west, cold bluish-white south-east. Destroy the stockpile by refining vials to 17, 17, 13, and 6 HP values, combining on the basin until the panel reads 53 HP haemalchemic potential, then exit north.

First Drakan Fight — Spear Mechanics

Lowerniel Drakan attacks with 3,000 hitpoints, focusing initially on Vanescula while Veliaf assists. When he targets you, expect melee and telegraphed spear attacks. Drakan draws blood marks on his left or right side—you dodge opposite the absorption side by stepping one or two tiles backward or diagonally. Safe tiles sparkle until roughly 2,900 HP remains; afterward rely on blood marks and reaction time.

Click on the tick when Drakan glows red after absorbing a mark. Enable game sounds for audio cues. Keep the camera high with you and Drakan on the same vertical axis.
